Water Flow is a two-part video work shown on a loop – a four-minute sensory flow of water, cardboard and plants. An exploration of the water cycle and the traces left by plants, in which close-ups and sound merge into a poetic flow.

The idea for the work emerged in 2020 whilst working on the exhibition ‘Flower Press’ for DRIFTSKONTORET. The sensation of water seeping out of the wet cardboard as the plants were pressed kept coming back to me. The invitation to the group exhibition PAP provided an opportunity to dig out the old footage, pursue the idea and challenge the medium of video.

The video work ‘Water Flow’ was created in close collaboration with filmmaker Elisabeth Hejslet and filmed in and around Bruunshåb Old Paper Mill – a working museum where recycled paper is still produced using water from the Mølleåen stream.
