Threads examines layers of soil on the heathland as photographic close-up studies together with wool and knitting.

It is an attempt to both mirror and visually connect heathland landscapes, people and history – as they have shaped each other over time. In the graphic works, layers of soil, roots and wool threads meet in new motifs.

They are printed as graphic intaglio prints; a technique where the motif is pressed into damp paper and produces subtle details.

A hand-knitted woollen sweater from the 1970s is transformed into new knitted objects that can provide warmth, adornment, and protection in an unsettled and unpredictable time.

The project is part of the international conference Anthropogenic Heathlands Moesgaard Februar 5-7 2025
