A Pressed Story About Plants is an investigative narrative about the plants from a defined field on a plot of land facing west.
Focusing on the plants relates to the essential attention we must direct toward nature.
Photogravure, as a technique and form of expression, can reveal subtle details and preserve the fragility of the plants. In this series, the plants appear in full figure, as they have been pressed—only layered with colors and surfaces.
This is the second series in a line of projects in which Munk & Jerichau explore the coastal landscape toward the west.
The exhibition is accompanied by the publication A Pressed Story About Plants, featuring texts, quotes, and images.
The series has previously been shown at Gallery 5Malūnai, Vilnius Academy of Art (spring 2024), and Enter Artspace // Print Lab, Aarhus (autumn 2024).
Munk & Jerichau collaborate on all stages of the process—from research, walks in nature, and material collection to the work at the printing press and the installation in the exhibition space.
